Circular No. (10) of 2021
Concerning the Official Working Days and Hours for
Abu Dhabi Government
To all the government entities and companies in the Emirate of Abu
Dhabi,
Peace be upon you, and God's mercy and blessings,
We are pleased to greet you and to extend our sincere gratitude for your
continuous cooperation to realise the public interest.
In the context of the efforts made by Abu Dhabi government to improve the
institutional performance in government entities and companies, and pursuant
to the Executive Council Resolution No. (207) of 2021 concerning the above
subject, please note the following:
1. The weekend in the government shall be on Saturday and Sunday.
2. The official working days and hours in the government shall be modified
from Monday to Friday, as follows:
Days Official Working Hours
From Monday
to Thursday
Eight (8) hours From 7:30 am to 3:30 pm
Friday Four and a half (4.5) hours From 7:30 am to 12:00 noon
3. The government entities and companies may apply the flexible work system
commensurate with the nature of their work.
4. The provisions of this circular shall be effective from 01/01/2022, provided
that Saturdays corresponding to 01/01/2022 and Sunday corresponding
to 02/01/2022 are official holidays.
