Executive Council Resolution
No. (74) of 2021
Concerning the Additional Competencies of the
Department of Economic Development
The Executive Council has decided the following:
1. The Department of Economic Development shall assume the following
additional competencies:
• Coordinate with the concerned Federal authorities to submit the
documents required for considering residency applications related to
the attraction and retention of people with distinguished qualifications
in the Emirate, including but not limited to: golden residency, six-month
residency and virtual work permit in the Emirate, and ensure that the
applications meet all requirements stipulated in accordance with the
legislations in force.
• Study the citizenship applications for investors, entrepreneurs,
specialised and talented professionals in the Emirate, ensure that the
applications fulfil all requirements stipulated in accordance with the
legislations in force, and submit the necessary recommendations to the
Executive Council.
2. The Chairman of the Department shall issue the resolutions and circulars
required to implement what is stated in this Resolution.
3. This Resolution shall become effective from the date of its issuance.
