Vessels Speed Limits in
Mina Zayed, Freeport & New Freeport
To: Port Users & Vessels' Agents
With the aim of ensuring safe navigation of vessels in channels and basins of Mina
Zayed, Freeport and New Freeport at all times, the vessels' speed limits are
restricted under the normal operating conditions (either inbound or outbound
movements) as per the following criteria.
In the Channel In the Basin
Ports (knots) (knots)
MinaZayed 12 6
Freeport / New Freeport 10 5
The above defined speed limits are maximum and should not be exceeded under any
circumstances.
Note: the vessel's speed shall not exceed 6 knots while engaged by Pilot in
embarking / disembarking operations.
