Cabinet Resolution No. (24) of 2023 Amending the Emirates Technical Rules Concerning the Additive Substances Permitted to Use in Foods

The Cabinet,
- Having reviewed the Constitution; and
- Federal Law No. (1) of 1972, Concerning the Competences of Ministries and Capacities of Ministries, and its amendments thereof; and
- Federal Decree-Law No. (20) of 2020, Concerning Metrology and Standards; and
- Cabinet Resolution No. (60) of 2019, Concerning the Mandatory Metrology Standard Related to Food Additives in the United Arab Emirates; and
- Based upon the proposal submitted by the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and the Cabinet's approval,
Resolved:

Article (1)

The UAE Technical Regulations, whose number and title are identified in the annexed schedule, shall be amended to prohibit the use of "Titanium Dioxide (E171)" as a food additive.

Article (2)

This Resolution shall be published in the Official Gazette, and it shall come into force as of the day following its date of publication.
