Cabinet Resolution No. (45) of 2016 Regarding Mandatory Standard Specification for the United Arab Emirates
The Cabinet:
– Having reviewed the Constitution;
– Federal Law No. (28) of 2001, Establishing the Emirates Standards and Metrology Authority and its amendments thereof,
– Based on the Cabinet's Approval,
Hereby resolves as follows:
Article (1)
The standard specification No. (UAE.S 5104:2016) concerning the safety requirements for modified vehicles and the standard specification No. (UAE.S GSO 42:2015) concerning the general requirements for cars, shall both be considered as standard specifications of mandatory application in the United Arab Emirates.
Article (2)
The concerned authorities shall implement this resolution, and correct its status in compliance with its provisions within (180) days as of its enforcement date.
Article (3)
This resolution shall be published in the official gazette, and shall come into force as of the day following its date of publication.
