Federal Law No. (7) of 1972 Concerning the Logo of the United Arab Emirates and its Official Seal

We, Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates,

- After reviewing the provisional constitution,

- Based on the approval of the federal council of ministers and the federal national council and the ratification of the federation supreme council,

Enacted the following law:

Article (1)

The National Emblem is represented in a falcon with a circle in the middle where a ship floats on waves and holds the falcon claws is drawn with a base in the form of rectangle bearing the name of United Arab Emirates.

Article (2)

The National Emblem shall be used in official records and documents.

Article (3)

It is not allowed to use the National Emblem for commercial and industrial purposes or in panels and advertisements and other marital papers unless with a private permission from the state president.
Whoever commits a violation to the provisions of the previous paragraph shall be punished with imprisonment for a period not exceeding a month and with a fine of (fifty Bahraini dinar) or five hundred Dirham or with one of such two penalties.

Article (4)

The National Seal shall be composed of the National Emblem put inside a circular frame as per the attached sample.

Article (5)

The National Seal shall be put on the stamps of ministries, various public authorities with stating the name of the Ministry, the authority or the concerned department between the two sides of the circular frame.

Article (6)

The National Seal shall be kept in the state residing for stamping on the laws, conventions, approval papers, official documents and patents and other resolutions and papers that should be stamped with the state stamp conventionally.

Article (7)

The present law shall be promulgated on the official gazette and shall be in effects as of date of its issuance.
